Gulf Aviation Academy (GAA) and Airways Aviation Academy (AAA) have signed a co-operation agreement.
The agreement, signed on September 1, will see AAA provide training to students recommended by Bahrain-based GAA, to obtain an EASA ATPL (European Aviation Safety Agency-approved frozen Airline Transport Pilot Licence).
AAA, a global flight training provider, with bases in the UK, Spain, Montenegro and Australia, will be offering full-time pilot training programmes to GAA candidates from the beginning of October.
Selection
The 81-week programme includes 230 hours of flight training and 767 hours of theoretical knowledge training, and will take place at AAA’s facilities in Huesca, Spain.
Candidates interested in the programme will be selected after completing a selection process that will involve exams in areas such as command of the English Language, maths, physics and aptitude abilities.
The final stage will be a personal interview to explain the programme further and asses the interest and motivation to start a career as a pilot.
“Airways Aviation Academy has an impressive track record of graduating thousands of successful pilots from around the world,” said GAA chief executive Captain Dhaffer Al Abbasi.
“We are looking forward to start referring students to them.”
Meanwhile, AAA executive chairman Marwan Atalla said that GAA was a “forward-thinking academy that shares our firm principles of quality education”.
“We value their trust in our highly developed pilot training programmes, and we are anticipating the arrival of the first group of students from Bahrain this fall,” he added.
A joint session will be held in Bahrain on October 6 at GAA’s facilities in Bahrain. The programme will be outlined in detail and interested future pilots will be invited to participate in the joint selection test conducted by GAA and AAA.
