Baghdad: Iraqi model Tara Fares was reportedly killed by members affiliated to an extremist group, said Interior Minister Qassem Al Araji, Almarsd reported.
In a live video posted on his official Facebook page, he said that security forces are tracking down the killers to bring them to justice.
However, he did not reveal the identity of the extremist group which was responsible for the model’s death.
On September 27, Iraqi media reported that unknown assailants killed Fares, a well-known model and social media fashion icon in Baghdad’s Kam Sara neighbourhood.
The 22-year-old, who was voted as Baghdad’s beauty queen in 2015, was living in the Kurdistan capital of Erbil but had been moving back and forth to Baghdad.
