Riyadh: Customs officers at Khalid International Airport in Riyadh foiled two attempts to smuggle 50,256 pills of Xanax and Alprazolam which are banned in Saudi Arabia.

The officers screened parcels sent from abroad by rapid post and confiscated 40,256 pills which were hidden inside packets of coffee and packs of sweets bearing their trademark.

They also seized 10,000 pills concealed within small aluminum tubes which were found among a quantity of toners for printers.
