EY, a professional services firm, has launched its EY Ripples, a global corporate responsibility program aimed at promoting positive change in the lives of millions by mobilizing and inspiring EY people and networks, globally and in the Mena region.
EY Ripples focuses on three distinct areas: supporting the next generation workforce, working with impact entrepreneurs, and accelerating environmental sustainability
Abdulaziz Al-Sowailim, Mena chairman and CEO, EY, said: “As a global organization with the ability to create an impact, EY is fully committed to making a meaningful contribution in the communities we operate in by using our skills, knowledge, and experience to help drive sustainable economic growth. The EY Ripples program is a testament to this commitment, so that everybody can contribute to and reap the rewards of positive change in our communities.”
EY helps young people to develop the mindsets and transferrable skills to find and sustain meaningful work by focusing on activities that emphasize self-reliance, creativity, innovation, critical reasoning, and complex problem-solving.
EY works with impact entrepreneurs to help scale their businesses, which purposefully drive progress toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. By using the knowledge, skills, and experience of EY people and networks, EY will support impact enterprises in improving their resilience, productivity, and capacity for sustainable growth.
EY is also committed to accelerating environmental sustainability by driving behaviours, technologies, and business models that protect and regenerate the environment while unlocking economic growth.
During the 2020 fiscal year, every EY professional in the Mena region will dedicate a minimum of one work day a year to EY Ripples activities, collectively helping to advance sustainable inclusive growth in the region.
Throughout the year, EY will build collaborative opportunities with trusted regional organizations, including those that empower women and children, to be part of EY Ripples.
EY aims to mobilize more than one million EY people, alumni, clients, and wider networks to help address some of society’s toughest challenges in order to positively impact one billion lives by 2030.
“By encouraging our people to take small actions that add value to the lives of others - every day, in every aspect of the business -we can continuously inspire and engage more people to contribute positively. This will in turn start a ripple effect of people growing and joining forces to create enormous waves of change worldwide,” concluded Al-Sowailim. – TradeArabia News Service
