Doha: Despite warnings by Qatari authorities against keeping dangerous animals as pets, an Arab national was seen carrying a tiger in the streets of the Qatari capital Doha.
The perpetrator could face a maximum of six months in prison and a fine ranging from QR1,000 to QR10,000 under Qatari law.

A video footage was widely shared on Twitter, in which the wild animal walked along a packed motorway in the Rayan area of Doha.
One of a series of the photographs shows an Arab national in white thobe and cap holding the tiger’s chain, seemingly having captured it.

The incident was recorded by someone sitting in a vehicle.
Tigers have not been native in the Middle East since the Caspian tiger extinct in the 1970s, so the animal is likely to be an escaped pet.
