MANAMA: His Majesty King Hamad last night congratulated Bahraini citizens and residents on the advent of Eid Al Adha.
He also extended Eid greetings to Team Bahrain, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Prime Minister, expressing pride and appreciation for their strenuous efforts.
He underlined their spectacular achievement in dealing with the pandemic to contain its repercussions through adequate precautionary plans that have resulted in a remarkable drop in the number of active cases.
His Majesty praised frontline heroes, including doctors, nurses, healthcare workers and all support staff as well as those in charge of the national vaccination campaign, for their great sacrifices and dedicated hard work to protect everyone’s health and safety.
The King urged everyone to continue supporting Team Bahrain.
He thanked citizens and residents for their sense of responsibility and continuous support for the national endeavours to confront the pandemic through strict commitment to the mandatory precautionary measures and enthusiasm for vaccination and booster shots.
He said the health situation in the kingdom is reassuring and this phase will also be surmounted thanks to everyone’s awareness and strong team spirit.
Separately, the leadership exchanged greetings with leaders of GCC, Arab and Islamic nations on the advent of Eid.
His Majesty and HRH Prince Salman also exchanged Eid greetings yesterday, wishing each other health and happiness and further progress and prosperity to Bahrain.
They were greeted on the occasion by Royal Family members, ministers, chairmen of Parliament and the Shura Council, senior officials and dignitaries.
Marking the advent of Eid, His Majesty has pardoned 32 prisoners who have served part of their jail terms, reflecting his keenness to provide them with an opportunity to reintegrate into society and contribute to the nation’s comprehensive development.
He has also ordered Eid gifts be granted to all widows and orphans registered with the Royal Humanitarian Foundation.
Bahrain has adopted the Covid-19 ‘orange level’ until Thursday based on restrictions announced earlier for the protection of health and safety of citizens and residents.
