BD100 public school fees proposal for expat students approved
Wow.
@i.arehmanworks
Sad.
@emanirshad26
This is unfair. What do we want next? We are literally closing all the doors for expats – education and better-earning jobs. Forcing them to eventually leave the country.
@san_0oyii
Closing doors to education? Did we? Allegations against the government? You make it sound like we have passed a bill that expat children are not allowed to go to school and as for the better-earning jobs let’s look at the locals who are unemployed in their own country due to heavy expat employment traffic. It’s time we start taking care of our people.
@dashy_me
No! My God ... some private schools charge less than that!
@maleeha.muzafar
People should be treated equally not based on their nationality.
@mohammed_bilal007
I thought Bahrain believed in ‘Education for All’?
@husswachi
Every child, regardless of nationality, race, etc., should be entitled to free education!
@erfanehn
This is so unfair for expats. Everyone’s struggling with something or the other. This was the only best thing for expats and now you have to pay for it too. They should also support people who were born here but are still expats.
@rubyshaikh890
A big money-making scheme?
@sh_7._.raj
I didn’t even know they had stopped accepting expat students entirely since 2018.They have the right to impose a fee, but at least make it affordable.
@traceur_m
Please, let it be free. There are so many who cannot afford this BD100 fee. Education should be free.
@dripping_paints
I am wondering about a person who is earning BD500 and has three to five children to educate.
@abdulmansuri11
Who cares whether it’s free or not? I won’t send my children to a government school in Bahrain. Why take the place of a local student?
@sumeshgee
There are so many things they could work on to improve the quality of life in the country but they do the exact opposite each time.
@_not_amith
Not fair. Think practically, with the salary earned and the bills paid by an expatriate ... Is it possible for them to pay this amount for each child?
@dilshadshaikh1974
This is unfair for expats. Everyone is struggling. They should support people who were born here and are still expats. Expats are paying higher rent, higher EWA, LMRA and now BD100 for education!
@ghulamshaikh191
It’s really a poor proposal by the MPs.
@shibiralam
BD100 per semester is affordable, but per month is frankly too much.
