A TOTAL of 135 purebred Arabian horses are competing in the National Day Horse Beauty Championship which kicked off yesterday.
Eight international experts will judge the horses during the event which runs until tomorrow at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club under the patronage of Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) president Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.
The competition, held annually under the directives of His Majesty’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and BREEF honorary president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has become a unique destination for showcasing exceptional Arabian horses.
Shaikh Isa highlighted that BREEF’s keenness to organise the event for horses of the Egyptian dynasty as part of the championship.
Meanwhile, championship organising committee head Abdulla Al Mudhahka expressed gratitude for the support and backing of His Majesty King Hamad, Shaikh Nasser and Shaikh Isa.
The winners will be announced tomorrow.
