THE Pakistani Women’s Association (PWA) is an active and dedicated group of inspiring ladies who have been relentlessly working for humanitarian causes since 1998.
PWA stands strong in support of Pakistanis in particular and other nationalities in general through its charitable causes and welfare activities.
One of the association’s core initiatives is to support the schooling of underprivileged children through its Education Scholarship Fund (ESF).
Currently, the ESF supports approximately 50 students of multiple nationalities at the Pakistan School of Bahrain as well as other educational institutions, with the aid of its public-spirited donors.
During the past year, PWA contributed significantly to bring relief to families struggling in the wake of the pandemic.
These initiatives included food campaigns, rental payments for accommodation of the needy, provisions as well as medical assistance for several families in the kingdom.
Furthermore, PWA has been very active in providing relief by organising collection drives for people in Lebanon, and Afghan refugees.
The PWA would like to warmly thank the Pakistan Embassy and particularly the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Muhammad Ayub, for his support and encouragement towards the association’s causes and for their joint collaboration.
“Most importantly, the PWA is ever-grateful to its donors, supporters and certainly its members for their selfless contributions, tireless efforts and patronage,” said PWA president Shahmeen Islam.
“Our work is not possible without your tireless efforts and generosity,” she added.
Lastly, the PWA cordially invites the women in Bahrain to join hands as members to bring some relief to the lives of the needy and help to further PWA’s cause.
Those interested in becoming a member can scan the code and pay the BD20 annual membership fee; all proceeds go to charity.
