American rock band Kings of Leon are set to entertain music lovers across the kingdom next month at Al Dana Amphitheatre.
The Grammy-award winning Nashville band, composed of brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared and cousin Matthew Followill, aims to captivate the crowd on March 11 with tunes from its latest album ‘When You See Yourself’, alongside fan favourites.
“We are thrilled to announce the return of concerts in 2022,” said Al Dana Amphitheatre chief executive Shane Chalmers.
“Kings of Leon continually explore new ways to connect directly with fans and we can’t wait to finally welcome back everyone to take part in a night full of rock at Al Dana Amphitheatre!”
The band has evolved over the years, from producing music with a blend of Southern, Garage rock and Blues influences, to a more Alternative and Arena genre of rock.
It has racked up 12 Grammy Award nominations and four wins in more than 22 years and is the first band to release ‘When You See Yourself’ as a non-fungible token (NFT).
The band, which actually dropped three types of tokens as part of a series called ‘NFT Yourself’, has become one of the most successful widely used NFTs to date.
One type is a special album package, while a second offers live show perks like front-row seats for life, and a third type is just for exclusive audio-visual art.
All three types of tokens offer art designed by the band’s long-time creative partner ‘Night After Night’; the smart contracts and intelligence within the tokens were developed by YellowHeart, a company that wants to use blockchain technology to bring value back to music and better direct-to-fan relationships.
As for the album, it was recorded at Nashville’s famed Blackbird Studios and produced by Grammy Award-winning Markus Dravs, receiving critical acclaim with Rolling Stone Magazine.
The band’s performance follows the amphitheatre’s massive success last year, which brought together more than 25,000 attendees and four international, regional, and local artists since its premiere concert in November.
