TWO expatriates were arrested yesterday for allegedly forging currency and committing fraud.
“Police received information about two men – an African and a European – who were circulating counterfeit currency,” the Interior Ministry’s Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security General Directorate said in a statement.
“The men were tricking people into believing that they can provide them with foreign banknotes.
“A specialised security team was formed to investigate the claims. A search of their residence revealed equipment and chemicals used for forgery, which have been confiscated.
“Legal proceedings have been completed and the case will be referred to the Public Prosecution.”
