BAHRAINI artists yesterday mourned the loss of theatre pioneer Hamza Mohammed. The 73-year-old died in Bahrain on Tuesday due to cancer complications.
Mr Mohammed started his career as an English teacher before taking up various roles in the media sector. He was also a keen photographer and contributed to a plethora of magazines and newspapers.
However, he was most well-known for his contributions to the Bahraini theatre. Mr Mohammed was among the 30 original founding members of Alsawari Theatre, that extended their condolences to his family and friends. He directed more than 50 plays and even acted in some of them.
