Entrepreneur and Bahrain Cricket Federation (BCF) advisory board chairman Mohammed Mansoor has made a generous contribution to GDN’s first-ever holy month community initiative, the ‘Make a Child Happy’ campaign which will run through Ramadan.
The GDN has teamed up with the Maqabah Charitable Society, which first spearheaded the ‘Make a Child Happy’ campaign in 1998, to help collect toys, game consoles and video games to distribute to 20,000 underprivileged, orphaned and sick children as Eid Al Fitr gifts.
“We do charity work round the year, thanks, largely, in part to my daughter, Saara who always finds noble causes for us to support,” said Mr Mansoor, who is the founder and CEO of the Saara Group, after dropping off a bundle of toys at the GDN’s Press building in East Riffa.
“When she came across GDN’s ‘Make a Child Happy’ initiative, she was very moved by this one-of-a-kind mission to do something for these children.
We decided that it was a cause we wanted to contribute to. And, to be honest, there is no better feeling in the world than seeing a child’s face light up with joy.
I hope our humble contribution will bring happiness to some of these beautiful children.”
GDN readers and online visitors are encouraged to help bring more smiles to the kingdom’s orphans, as well as sick children having to spend Eid in hospital, by dropping off their donated gifts at GDN’s East Riffa office or its commercial HQ on Exhibitions Avenue in Hoora.
