There is no prevalence of cases of liver inflammation (Hepatitis) among children in Bahrain, the Health Ministry said.
The statement came after investigations were launched into cases of hepatitis in children in four European nations and the US.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) reported cases of hepatitis among children aged below 16 in Denmark, Ireland, the Netherlands, Spain and the US .
The ministry shared the WHO alert with paediatricians, infectious disease consultants, and laboratories.
A circular has also been sent to all doctors in the government and private sectors.
The Public Health Directorate has stepped up co-operation with hospitals and private medical centres to monitor the situation and follow up on the indicators of global virus development with the GCC countries and the WHO and regional organisations.
