BAHRAIN is expected to be buffeted by strong winds from Thursday, the Transportation and Telecommunications Ministry’s meteorological directorate warned yesterday.
It said the dry and gusty north-westerly winds traditionally last for 40 days.
Wind speeds are expected to pick up during the weekend accompanied by rising sand and dust, raising an alarm for seafarers to be careful at sea.
“Bahrain is bearing witness to low-speed eastern winds which has resulted in temperatures rising above the average for June as temperatures are hot during the day with relative humidity rising during the night,” added the directorate.
