Agony as students risk losing a year
The education system as is hinders creativity, unnecessarily burdening students with subjects they will never use. Arabic is not an easy language. Poor students. Well, if a great number of students fail a subject, it clearly shows a problem with the institution, the curriculum or the teaching. I studied in one of the best business schools in the UK; 80 per cent of my class failed marketing in our second year. Anyone who studied marketing knows no-one can swallow marketing theory in one semester, sit exams along with five other subjects and pass them all with flying colours. In the end they had to pass us all. But that low 50pc pass mark did affect our overall degree classification. My point is, Philip Kotler along with other authors, developed marketing theories over many years!
@olgademello
If it’s a public school I can understand.
@adel_jabbar
The books the ministry uses are a crime against the Arabic language and the children end up hating their own language! Change the curriculum!

Ancient shark tooth found in the desert
This is not a fossil, it is a leftover from the campers.
@encyclopedia.cafe
That’s a piece of bread.
@master_lemontoboggan_
Are these the results by analytic process to dedicate the fossil’s age?
@ayj.995
It’s a guessing game.
@talalbinkhalid
Now you know why the shark died ... It went to the desert.
@snap0grapher
Tens of millions of years ago. Oh really.
@khaleeji_decor_org
Always fun to go and look for fossils in Sakhir area.

71pc expat workers earn less than BD200 a month
We believe that the Bahraini government will pay close attention to this issue and help build a skilled workforce that will benefit the workers.
Misu Sabbir
So now you can imagine how we are paying our rents and EWA bills.
Red Wing
The government should take action to increase salaries in all sectors.
Motiur Rahman
True. 100 per cent right. One section is not good; hope the government does something for the expatriates.
Mashud Parvez
When you work that out for an hourly price, it becomes slave labour.
Sally Ansell
This is a very low salary ... people are living with great difficulty ... inflation is very high ... the government should give a special package for the poor.
@hameedkhanniiazi
Either the ranking is not so accurate, or they only consider people from a limited number of countries as expats and the rest of them as ‘who knows’.
@ashwwiinnn
But you see white Europeans earning well are a minority so the 61pc is a false statistic made up to look better for people around the world to allow in more tourists and possibly more white European permanent residents which is an aim of Bahrain right now.
@rescue.sheep
And 61pc of expat population is happy with life in Bahrain. So only 9pc having problem with BD200 salary. Good to know money cannot buy happiness. Also really want to meet that person who found 61pc happy people in the survey. He needs a tight hug. Bro! Give me the details of that happy people; just want to expand my friend circle!
