A BAHRAINI was sentenced to death by the High Criminal Court today (July 19) for drug trafficking across regional waters.
The Northern Governorate Prosecution Head revealed that information was received in March this year regarding the smuggling of 50 kilogrammes of hashish from Iran.
An investigation was launched which determined the co-ordinates of the drop-off at sea and a special team was deployed to retrieve the narcotics and set up a sting operation.
Upon his arrest, the Bahraini admitted to the charges and revealed co-operating with an Irani national abroad to smuggle the drugs into Bahrain in exchange for money.
