A total of 14, 321 Bahraini jobseekers have been employed over the first half of the year, ending in June 2022, showed a memo submitted by the Labour Minister.
This represents 72 per cent of the annual goal of the priority included in the economic recovery plan – employing 20,000 Bahrainis annually until 2024.
The rate of unemployment has also dropped from 7.7pc to 5.7pc during the same period – thanks to the financial and economic packages launched during Covid-19 outbreak, the economic recovery plan and the launch of the National Employment Programme, the Cabinet heard yesterday.
