AN EXPATRIATE has been found dead in his accommodation in Sitra.
Indian Anoopkumar Menon was found hanging in his room on Monday and is believed to have committed suicide. The 37-year-old was employed as a supervisor in a private company.
The GDN learnt that he had been suffering from back pain and was on medical leave since last Wednesday.
“We learn that Anoopkumar was a happy person and even spoke to his family on Monday night,” said former Palakkad Arts and Cultural Theatre president Jyothi Menon.
“He had no issues at work or back home, as we understand. His birthday was on Saturday and all his friends remember him as a happy man.”
The deceased’s wife reportedly informed his employers that she could not reach her husband on phone on Monday morning.
“His two roommates were on vacation and two other colleagues who went looking for him found him hanging,” added Mr Menon.
The man from Mannur, Palakkad, is survived by his wife Urmila and two sons, aged six and four, who live with his parents back home.
The body of the deceased is in Salmaniya Medical Complex morgue.
