The Interior Ministry has clarified tourist visa rules. In a statement issued last night it said, “In response to what was published regarding the rules of tourist visas for Bahrain, the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs office of the Interior Ministry affirms that the kingdom welcomes visitors from around the world, and that the issuance of visas is a regulatory process subject to a set of requirements, as is the case in all countries.
“Among the criteria for tourist visas is that the person visiting has to show proof of funds, and that the visa applicant has a hotel reservation and a valid return ticket.
“The Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs office calls on visa applicants to ensure that these criteria are met, in order to enable them to obtain a visa,” it added.
