THE Education Ministry has dismissed as false a video circulated on social media showing a picture of a small white writing board with a comment claiming that a female teacher at A’ali Primary Boys’ School hit a fourth-grade student on the head with the board.
In a statement yesterday, the ministry said an investigation was launched which revealed that the alleged beating incident took place on September 15, that is five days before the video and the comment had gone viral.
Students’ testimonies denied any beating incident in the classroom. The teacher didn’t hit the student with the board on the head, they said.
A teacher who was in the classroom said she heard her colleague scolding the student when she asked him to take the board out of his bag and noticed that it was damaged.
She stated that the teacher was only blaming the student for having destroyed the new board, and that she didn’t witness her beating the student with the board on his head, reports our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej.
