THREE young Bahraini architects have been recognised for their design proposals for the Rashid Al Khalifa (RAK) Centre for Performing Arts.
Fatima Nickahdar took the top prize in the competition which invited aspiring architects to submit a schematic design for the centre, to be located in Adhari.
Candidates were expected to take into consideration the history of the area and applications were judged on innovation, sustainability, environmental responsibility, functional design and communality.
Latifa and Alanood Khayyat’s proposal won second place and Sara Salman took home the third place award.
Adnan Hansia and Mohammed Al Zeera received honourable mentions.
