Much-loved regional icon Abdulmajeed Abdullah took to the stage last night in front of a packed adoring Al Dana Amphitheatre audience, writes REEM AL DAAYSI.
Tickets for the Saudi singer’s concert sold-out within an hour of being released online.
Fans who were fortunate to snap up a ticket could be seen singing and dancing to the charismatic star’s music throughout the night.
Over the last two decades, Mr Abdullah has performed with some of the GCC’s most prominent composers and lyricists and has taken part in regional and international music festivals.
“The last time I performed in Bahrain was in 2004,” Mr Abdullah told the media minutes before stepping onto the stage.
“Bahrain is my country and it’s people are my people.
“I’m overjoyed that my concerts are a much-awaited event and this makes me proud.”
The rush to buy tickets prompted Al Dana Amphitheatre management to announce a second show by the popular performer to be held tonight.
