Government Hospitals and the Arabian Gulf University (AGU) signed an agreement to promote and develop co-operation.
AGU vice president Abdulrahman Yousif Ismail and Government Hospitals chief executive Ahmed Mohammed Al Ansari, highlighted the aim of the agreement is to invest the expertise and capabilities of the two sides to contribute to the development of the health system and building health teams in the fields of education and training and scientific research.
The agreement was part of the commitment towards excellence in health care and clinical training, which is the primary task for both parties.
Mr Ismail said that this agreement will provide a stimulating environment for conducting scientific research according to international standards of quality (ISO), by training government hospital doctors according to their needs in scientific research curricula, and enabling them to publish in accredited international journals.
The two parties are also attempting to promote multi-centre studies with an international and regional focus on health-related issues in the GCC.
