Voting age - 20 years. Voters have to carry their passports and smart card which will be checked at the polling centre, and passport will be stamped with official 2022 election logo after the vote is cast.
Expats and GCC nationals who own and live in their properties in Bahrain are legally permitted to vote in municipal elections although the right to vote in parliamentary elections is only open to Bahrainis.
Voters who have Covid-19 can cast their ballots by visiting the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre in Sanabis.
There BIECC is among the 15 general polling stations set up across the country.
The other centres are Seef Mall, the Religious Institute, Sitra Mall, Al Hidd Primary School for Girls, Bahrain International Airport, the King Fahad Causeway, Hamad Town Secondary School for Boys, Education Ministry Hall in Isa Town, Wadi Al Sail Primary School for Boys, Safra Primary School for Girls, the Bahrain International Circuit, Shaikha Mozah bin Hamad Al Khalifa School for Girls, University of Bahrain and Muharraq Sports Club.
In addition, 40 schools have been assigned as voting centres for all the 40 constituencies across the four governorates where citizens can cast their ballots from 8am to 8pm today.
