UPDATED information on registering births and deaths is available on Bahrain’s national portal, bahrain.bh, the Information and e-Government Authority has said.
All births and deaths in Bahrain must be registered within 15 days and 72 hours respectively, it said.
Births and deaths of Bahrainis outside the country must be registered within 60 days.
Registration requests after the deadline will be referred to a special committee of the authority, which will consider the reason for the delay.
The authority said the portal also gives details of procedures to be followed and documents that need to be submitted.
Citizens can also avail of other facilities like changing names or surnames, correcting or changing information on record.
Citizens can also benefit from the service of amending the birth certificate data by court order online. However, the implementation of the rulings related to the issuance of a death certificate can be done through the personal presence of the authority.
It has also organised lecture and awareness campaign about the procedures.
