Riyadh: Civil Defence units evacuated 180 employees due to the fire which broke out at Al-Mashfa Hospital in Jeddah.
Eleven in-patients and two medical employees have also been evacuated and transferred to other neighbouring hospitals said Mecca Province Civil Defence Spokesman Colonel Said Sarhan.
Seven firefighting units, nine rescue teams and three rapid intervention units rushed to the scene to try to contain the blaze and ensure it didn't engulf the entire building.
Initial inquiry showed that the fire first broke out in the batteries of servers on the 9th floor causing columns of thick smoke to spread through the hospital corridors.
