A SPECIAL Formula 1 fan zone with daily concerts, entertainment and local artisans is set to be launched in Adliya tomorrow, to build excitement for next month’s season-opening race weekend.
Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) will be launching the Beyon Money F1 Village, a two-week festival celebrating Formula 1, with live music, DJs, F1 activations, a craft village and more.
It will be located in Adliya’s popular Block 338 and will run for two weeks starting this Thursday at 6pm.
“The festival, which is being held for the second time in Bahrain after a hugely popular debut last year, brings all the excitement of Formula 1 closer to the fans with a daily celebration in the heart of the kingdom’s capital in the build-up to the F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2023,” a BIC spokesperson explained, in a statement.
The village will be open daily from February 16 to March 2, from 6pm to 11pm on weekdays and noon to 11pm on weekends. Entrance is free of charge.
The F1 Fan Village is being organised after the “massive success” of the first-of-its-kind experience last year, the spokesperson noted.
“Thousands turned up each day to share in the carnival-like atmosphere and continue the exciting build-up to F1 race week.”
This year’s edition will include F1-related activities such as racing simulators, a driver selfie experience, the F1 show car and World Championship Trophy. Visitors will also have a chance to design one’s own F1 car livery with a digital print machine.
The main stage will be active with daily live music performances from local DJs and bands.
Daily schedules of entertainment will be published by BIC and due to the popularity of the event, fans are urged to follow instructions on parking and access.
There will also be a craft village, BIC merchandise and ticketing stand, roaming family entertainment, street artists, magicians, and more.
The energy investment and development arm of the kingdom, nogaholding, is a support partner for the event.
The F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2023 will take place from March 3 to 5 at the BIC in Sakhir.
Three days of top-class motorsport will be complemented by plenty of attractions at the Bahrain Grand Prix, including concerts featuring DJ Snake and Craig David, family entertainment and more.
In addition, during the February 23-25 weekend, pre-season testing for the upcoming F1 season will take place at the BIC, showcasing for the first time each team’s cars that will vie for the world championship title.
Tickets to this year’s F1 race weekend are selling fast.
Those looking to experience the pinnacle of motorsport must therefore purchase their tickets as soon as possible to be a part of the region’s biggest racing and entertainment extravaganza.
