Maystar, of Al Afoo Racing, claimed the General Sports Authority Cup after winning the eighth race yesterday at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club.
The winner, trained by Mohammed Hasan and ridden by Ebrahim Nader, was followed by Grigadale of Al Mohamediya Racing while Wowzers, also owned by Al Mohamediya Racing, finished third.
Harbour Spirit, owned by Ramadhan Stable, was the winner of the seventh race for GSA Cup, finishing ahead of Arctic Emperor, of Al Mohamediya Racing, and Glen Savage, of M and E Racing.
Earlier, the sixth race of the day, for The Jockey Club Cup, was won by Dark Lion, owned by Victorious and Fawzi Nass. Taqareer, of Al Afoo Racing, was second while Zezenia, of MKAR Racing, finished third.
Bint Al Jazeera, of Al Mohamediya Racing, emerged winner in the fifth race, powering past second-placed Black Shadow, of M and E Racing, and Amwaj, owned by MKAR Racing.
Meanwhile, the GSA Cup, for the winner of the fourth race, was clinched by Safwa, owned by Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa. Taufan, owned by Shaik Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, was second and Miblish, of Al Nuwayef Racing, claimed the third place.
Amaan, owned by Mohamed Jasim Jaafar, bagged the Chevron Cup after winning the third race, edging past Yaalail, owned by Jaffar Marzooq, and Graphite Storm, of Al Hassanain Racing.
Shaddad, of Al Bastaki Racing, was the winner of the second race, easing past Wahaaj, of Al Nuwayef Racing. Al Bastaki Racing’s Ghaarah was third.
Al Krush 1786, of Al Roudha, claimed victory in the opening race of the day. Al Suwaitieh 1819, of Al Sakhir, grabbed the second place while Al Saqlawieh 1863, of Al Riffa, finished third.
