FOLLOWING are the week’s events of the 17th edition of the Spring of Culture festival which continues until the end of the month:
b ‘An Italian Journey’ this evening at 8pm pays homage to the great Italian musical tradition with a succession of iconic music pieces, opera arias and duets. It is being held in collaboration with the Italian Embassy.
Venue: Cultural Hall.
b The Qalali Folk Band, which boasts a rich history stretching back more than 100 years preserving and promoting the seafaring musical traditions of Bahrain, will take to the stage on Saturday at 8pm.
Venue: Dar Al Muharraq.
b Jordanian-Palestinian writer and poet Rashid Ali Issa will share his work, ‘Sea in a Bottle’, on Monday at 8pm.
Venue: House of Poetry - Ebrahim Al Arrayed.
b Brass-A-Holics, an electrifying ensemble of instrumentalists and performers from the US will share their upbeat New Orleans sound on Tuesday at 8pm.
Venue: Cultural Hall.
b On March 12 at 8pm, participants of the Muharraq Supper Club event will take a stroll along Qal’at Bu Mahir followed by an outdoor seafood five-course dinner prepared by chefs Yousif Qamber and Khaled Al Saie.
All events are free, except the supper club dinner.
