Following directives of Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Bahrain Football Association (BFA), has approved the cash prizes allocated for the champions and runners-up of the King Cup football championship for the 2022-23 season.
BFA president Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa affirmed that based on Shaikh Khalid’s directives, the BFA board of directors has decided to allocate BD100,000 to the King Cup champions, and BD50,000 to the runners-up.
Shaikh Ali commended Shaikh Khalid’s support for BFA, noting that the directives are consistent with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and SCYS chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to develop sports in the kingdom at all levels.
He wished the finalists, Al Ahli and Al Hala, success in the King Cup title clash, which will be held at the Khalifa Sports City stadium on Friday. The match is scheduled to kick off at 8.45pm.
