HORSERACING – The Bahrain Jockey Foundation announced yesterday the launch of a training programme to prepare and qualify Bahraini apprentice, entry-level, and amateur jockeys.
The programme is part of ongoing cooperation between the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) and the Labour Fund ‘Tamkeen’ to support and train Bahraini youth.
Entitled ‘Bahrain Jockeys’, the programme will commence on October 5 and run until the end of March next year as part of REHC’s broader efforts to develop and train Bahraini jockeys.
The initiative aims to promote horseracing by investing in youth, enhancing the skills of Bahraini jockeys, and advancing their capabilities in line with the latest training methods.
The programme will be supervised by specialised trainers from the British Racing School, reflecting REHC’s development vision and commitment to strengthening the base of Bahraini jockeys.
Open to Bahraini youth of both genders aged 15 to 22 years old, the programme seeks to encourage young people to take part in horseracing and refine their skills through advanced training principles, ultimately qualifying them to participate in official races in the future.
Interested candidates may register through REHC’s official website bahrainturfclub.com until September 20, in accordance with the specific terms and regulations listed on the website.
