THE growing partnership between Bahrain and Pakistan has been praised by His Majesty King Hamad, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
He highlighted the solid bilateral ties as he received Pakistan’s Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza yesterday.
General Mirza conveyed the greetings of Pakistan President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and their best wishes to Bahrain and its people for further progress and prosperity.
The King welcomed General Mirza and asked him to convey his greetings and sincere wishes of continued progress and prosperity to President Dr Alvi and Prime Minister Sharif.
He praised co-operation in all fields, noting the role of such visits in strengthening relations, especially in the military and defence fields.
His Majesty also expressed his appreciation for the honourable stances of Pakistan and its co-operation in maintaining security and stability in the region. He commended the role of the Pakistani community in Bahrain and its contributions to the kingdom’s development.
The meeting discussed topics of common interest and latest regional and international developments.
His Majesty granted General Mirza the Order of Bahrain medal in appreciation for his efforts in strengthening military and defence co-operation.
General Mirza expressed his gratitude to the King for honouring him. He also praised His Majesty’s efforts in consolidating relations, especially in the defence and military aspects.
