The overall number of high school outstanding graduates who are entitled to obtain full scholarships topped 1,875.
The eligible high-achieving students have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 95 per cent and more, said Education
Minister Dr Mohammed Mubarak Juma.
In a statement yesterday, he said that more than 1,300 outstanding students obtained the first major of their choice, making up 70pc of top-achievers.
A total of 195 outstanding students obtained their second choice, accounting for 10pc, and the remaining 20pc got their third choice and beyond.
Outstanding students whose GPA ranged between 90pc and 94.9pc have obtained university grants.
The minister said this as he received top government and private school achievers. Education Ministry’s officials and students’ parents were also present.
Students have also until tomorrow to challenge the academic major they were given by logging to a link on the ministry’s website.
Students who obtained scholarships to study at Bahrain University are required to send the documents in PDF file within two months after their official admission, on email pub_uni_grants@moe.bh.
Those who opted to enrol at a local university are requested to send their documents (PDF file) on email priv_uni_grants@moe.bh
