Bapco Energies and its subsidiaries joined national efforts to expand green areas and step up the afforestation drive.
Employees and their families managed to plant a total of 2,350 mangrove trees near South Al Ma’ameer channel.
The campaign was organised to mark the International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem.
The participants also removed 5,000kg of waste in a beach clean-up campaign in the same area.
The initiative was attended by officials representing the Supreme Council for the Environment, Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Ministry and the Southern Municipality.
The campaign was in support of the National Initiative for the Development of Agriculture and the National Afforestation Plan (Green Forever).
