A NEW initiative that ensures workers’ wages that are transferred to their bank accounts every month match the Social Insurance Organisation (SIO) data was launched yesterday.
The partnership between the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and the SIO aims to unify data related to private sector wages in a transparent manner, allowing both entities access to the database of workers.
LMRA chief executive Nouf Jamsheer and SIO chief executive Eman Al Murbati launched the initiative in the presence of officials.
Ms Jamsheer said this was an important step that complements the Wage Protection System.
“The partnership will provide added oversight of the employers’ commitment to pay their employees’ wages, to enhance the quality of electronic services in the government sector and to ensure the correctness of data related to workers’ wages in the private sector,” she added.
It will also help monitor employers’ commitment and help both entities exchange data that covers all private sector employees, including Bahrainis.
Ms Al Murbati stressed that this will ensure transparency in wages and protection of workers.
