MEMBERS of the Pakistani community in Bahrain celebrated their country’s 76th Independence Day.
The national anthem was played and a flag-raising ceremony was held at the Pakistan Embassy in the Diplomatic Area.
Ambassador Muhammad Ayub delivered key remarks at the event that was attended by community members, businessmen and other guests.
He praised the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for making Bahrain a successful and prosperous country.
He also thanked the Bahraini leadership for their support in further strengthening Pakistan-Bahrain relations.
Children performed national songs, after which a cake-cutting ceremony was held.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Club held a flag raising ceremony led by its chairman Rehan Ahmed and vice chairman Afzal Bhatti in the presence of large community members.
