Historic ties with Saudi Arabia were in the spotlight as His Majesty King Hamad yesterday received Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.
Prince Faisal conveyed the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and their sincere wishes of further progress and advancement to Bahrain.
The King thanked the minister and relayed his greetings to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Saudi Crown Prince, and his appreciation for their noble sentiments in offering condolences over the loss of the fallen servicemen.
His Majesty expressed his pride in the deep-rooted relations and their historical development milestones, stressing Bahrain’s keenness to continue enriching these to achieve the common aspirations of the two countries. The King praised the sincere efforts made by the Saudi-Bahraini Co-ordination Council, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
He also praised the pioneering role of Saudi Arabia under its leadership in serving GCC, Arab and Islamic issues.
HRH Prince Salman also met Prince Faisal at Riffa Palace and highlighted longstanding relations between the two countries, which have been strengthened thanks to the efforts of His Majesty and King Salman.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister noted Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening relations to further boost development and prosperity.
He also commended the ongoing efforts made by the Saudi Crown Prince in furthering Bahrain-Saudi Arabia partnership.
HRH Prince Salman thanked the Saudi leadership for their condolences over the kingdom’s fallen servicemen, who honourably took part in the Saudi-led Arab Coalition Forces at the southern border of Saudi Arabia.
He highlighted Saudi’s influential role in championing the causes of GCC, Arab and Islamic nations. He then hosted a luncheon in honour of Prince Faisal’s visit to the kingdom.
Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani, and Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa attended the meeting.
