Parliament has donated BD50,000 towards a national campaign to raise urgently needed aid for the Palestinians in Gaza.
Speaker Ahmed Al Musallam, wearing a Palestinian scarf, made the announcement at the beginning of today's weekly session.
The campaign kicked off yesterday with a generous donation by His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
He donated BD100,000 to the ‘Help Gaza’ drive announced by the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF).
Meanwhile, Bahrain TV will run an appeal for funds on Friday from 2pm.
