REGISTRATION for the new camping season is set to begin on Thursday.
Details of the new 2023-2024 season, from November 10 to February 29, were announced by Southern Governor Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, as he chaired a co-ordination meeting with representatives from responsible ministries and bodies.
Shaikh Khalifa stressed keenness on strengthening community, security and environmental co-operation and partnership at a pioneering level to ensure the best organisation of the season.
He also pointed out the need for campers to adhere to the requirements and regulations and follow the approved season map in addition to the necessary instructions and measures for camping during the season.
“It aims to preserve their safety and the success of the season in accordance with the highest security, environmental and regulatory standards,” he said.
“In addition to co-operating with security authorities such as Civil Defence by following safety procedures and necessary precautions and providing safety requirements and the General Directorate of Traffic by having quad bikes shops provide safety elements, and the commitment of vehicle drivers to adhere to traffic controls.”

On the other hand, Shaikh Khalifa explained that the governorate is keen to help with the registration mechanism through electronic services and digital initiatives provided by the governorate, such as the digital “Khayyim” initiative, which aims to enhance communication with campers for a safer and more comfortable season.
“The initiative includes mechanism and steps, electronic registration, and learning about all the details related to this year’s season.
“It can be done through the Aljunobya application for mobile devices and smartphones, which is available in both Arabic and English.
“No registration fees will be imposed.”

Or through the National Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).
