Internationally acclaimed comedian Bassem Youssef, who recently made news for his interview on the Piers Morgan Uncensored show, is set to perform in Bahrain next month.
The Egyptian comedian and television host, who left behind a career as a heart surgeon to become an entertainer, will perform on November 24 at The Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel. So far, only one Arabic show has been announced in Bahrain.
"Often hailed as the Arab World's equivalent to John Stewart, Mr Youssef gained fame as the host of AlBernameg, an online show that revolutionised Middle Eastern television," organisers noted in their statement.
"With its unprecedented viewership and widespread acclaim, AlBernameg became the region's most-watched programme."
Most recently, Mr Youssef has drawn media attention after his October 17 interview, in which he spoke, often satirically, about the 2023 Israel–Hamas war and the broader Israeli–Palestinian conflict.
The video has garnered more than 20 million views since it was posted 11 days ago, quickly becoming the most watched video on the Piers Morgan Uncensored YouTube channel.
