Hundreds of citizens and residents from across Bahrain yesterday took part in a peaceful sit-in protest calling for an end to the siege of Gaza, and opening of Rafah crossing.
The registered rally named ‘Open the Borders’ was held outside the headquarters of the Bahraini Society Against Normalisation with the Zionist Enemy in Adliya.
During the sit-in, the society announced that they have launched a petition addressed to the United Nations and Egyptian authorities, requesting them to provide Gaza civilians with a safe haven from Israeli bombing by opening the crossing.
The GDN on Thursday reported that MPs, during an extraordinary Parliamentary session, signed a petition calling on the authorities to sever diplomatic and economic ties with Israel following the Gaza war.
