On behalf of His Majesty King Hamad, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, yesterday arrived in Saudi Arabia to lead Bahrain’s delegation at the Extraordinary Session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the Summit Level, and the Extraordinary Islamic Summit Conference, to be held in Riyadh.
His visit follows an invitation extended to His Majesty by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
HRH Prince Salman extended gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and to the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for hosting the conferences. They are being held amid developments in the Gaza Strip, which have unprecedented repercussions for the region and require intensified and unified Arab and Islamic efforts.
The Crown Prince and Prime Minister commended Saudi Arabia’s pivotal role in safeguarding and advocating Arab issues, particularly the Palestinian cause, and in advancing peace efforts in the region.
He expressed his pride in the history of Bahrain-Saudi relations and emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties to achieve common aspirations and mutual interests for the people of the two Kingdoms.
HRH Prince Salman expressed his gratitude to Saudi Arabia for unifying efforts to achieve regional and global security. He affirmed Bahrain’s continued support for efforts aimed at furthering global development and prosperity and wished Saudi Arabia success in hosting the Summits.
His Royal Highness was accompanied by Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Labour Minister Jameel Humaidan, Legal Affairs Minister Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, and Cabinet Affairs Minister Hamad bin Faisal Al Malki, along with other senior officials.
