THE Bahrain-Qatar Causeway project was discussed at a key meeting yesterday.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, met Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani at Gudaibiya Palace.
Both parties directed the concerned authorities to complete the necessary plans to initiate the implementation of the project.
They reviewed Bahrain-Qatar partnership and ways to further bolster co-operation.
Regional and international developments were also discussed, including the conflict in the Gaza Strip.
They stressed the importance of halting the war, protecting civilians’ lives, releasing hostages and detainees.
The need to open secure, humanitarian corridors to deliver aid and assistance into the Gaza Strip in line with international humanitarian laws was also emphasised.
HRH Prince Salman expressed his best wishes of progress and prosperity for Qatar. He emphasised the importance of further strengthening relations to meet joint aspirations and to benefit both countries and their peoples.
A lunch banquet was held in honour of Shaikh Mohammed’s visit.
The Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister expressed his gratitude to HRH Prince Salman for his support in furthering relations.
His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sport chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani, Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and a number of senior officials attended the meeting.
