STUDENTS from a Bahrain school put on an impressive performance at a global scholars competition in the US.
Twelve scholars from Bhavans – Bahrain Indian School (BIS) won 65 medals – 42 gold and 23 silver – at the World Scholars’ Cup Tournament of Champions 2023 which was held at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.
Their performance also positioned the BIS delegation among 950 champions from 65 countries.
The event provides a platform for young minds to not only test their knowledge but also hone their creative writing and debating skills.
“The event also encouraged participants to apply their knowledge, fostering a deeper understanding of the world around them. The BIS scholars emerged as winners and ambassadors of their school, embodying the qualities of perseverance, resilience and a commitment to academic exploration,” said the school in a statement.
The young scholars were also engaged in a range of enriching activities, from scavenger hunts and keynote speeches to cultural fairs, the Scholar’s Ball, and tours of prestigious institutions such as MIT and Harvard.
On their return, the students took part in a panel discussion at the school, sharing their experiences with other students.
The school management congratulated the young scholars for their outstanding achievements on a global stage.
