THE role of bees in nature and the therapeutic properties of honey will be the focus of a workshop to be held at Al Jasra Handicrafts Centre today.
The event, being held as part of the Young Artisan programme, will also shed light on ways to extract honey.
The Bee Adventure Workshop for children, aged five to 12, will be held from 4pm to 6pm.
It’s part of a number of entertaining workshops organised by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (Baca) at the Al Jasra centre this week.
A Weaving Workshop will discover the types of threads used in the textile industry. Children aged between seven and 12 will be taught how to use a wooden loom.

The event will be held today, from 4pm to 6pm, in Arabic and English.
A Date Molasses Workshop will delve into the rich world of dates, celebrated for their nutritional value and traditional flavours.
Participants aged 14 and above will be taught how to make dates molasses. They will also identify the types of dates and tools used in the process.
The workshop will be held on Saturday from 10am to noon in both Arabic and English.
An advanced Islamic Decoration Art workshop for those aged 18 and above will explore the basics of the craft, including the choice of colours. Participants will be taught how to produce an integrated decorative panel.
The workshop will take place on Sunday and Monday, from 4pm to 6pm, in Arabic and English.
