AROUND 1,200 Ramadan charity baskets have been donated by the Northern Governorate as part of the ‘Ramadan is Partnership and Solidarity’ campaign, held in co-operation with the Interior Ministry.
Northern Governor Ali Al Asfoor praised government agencies and private companies for their contributions and said they will go a long way in supporting the needy and lifting the burden on families with limited income during the holy month.
“This initiative coincides with our efforts to be considered as a Healthy Governorate,” he said.
“The co-operation between the public and private sectors has been crucial for the success of the campaign.
“The governorate will continue to work hard to ensure that people can mark Ramadan without the strain of living costs burdening them.”
Work is underway to distribute the boxes to families across villages and towns in the kingdom.
