His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has directed officials to assess the flood-related damage to compensate those affected.
His directives last night followed torrential rains that wreaked havoc across the kingdom over the last 48 hours.
HRH Prince Salman directed the Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Ministry and the Works Ministry to assess the damage.
He further directed for the identification of areas adversely affected by the rainfall, and develop sustainable infrastructural and drainage solutions in line with best practices to meet current and future needs.
HRH Prince Salman commended the efforts of the ministries and authorities concerned that have been responding to the flooding.
Emergency teams were working round the clock to clear flooded roads and highways.
However, weathermen offered some respite with their forecast for today – ‘Fine with some clouds’. Bahrain has been battered by thunder, lightning, high winds and heavy rainfall since Monday.
