The Filipino community in Bahrain commenced the coming 126th anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine Independence, along with a Migrants Day celebration, with a special mass officiated by Father Anthony Almazan at the Sacred Heart Church in Manama.
Led by Philippine Ambassador Anne Jalando-on Louis, the atmosphere brimmed with patriotism and unity as hundreds of expatriate Filipinos residing in Bahrain came together on Friday to mark the occasions.
In his message to the Filipino migrant workers in Bahrain on 29th National Migrant Workers Day, Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Leo J Cacdac extended his warm greetings, recognising their significant contributions to the nation’s progress and development.
Every year on June 7, the Philippines marks National Migrant Workers’ Day. This day holds great significance for the millions of overseas Filipino workers and the entire nation. The event also aims to raise awareness about migration issues and advocate for their rights.
Independence Day is a national holiday in the Philippines observed annually on June 12, commemorating the declaration of Philippine independence from Spain in 1898.
