A group of married Hindu women performed an ancient ritual around the 200-year-old banyan tree in the British Embassy premises in Manama.
‘Vat Savitri’ is a festival during which women mark their love for their husbands and their well-being by tying a ceremonial thread around a banyan tree.
The Hindu temple managing committee thanked British Ambassador Alastair Long, wife Victoria and the embassy staff for allowing to celebrate the festival.
